VAT on Air conditioners rises from 6% to 23% on Luly 1st in Portugal. According to omnho.pt, the VAT rate on air cnditioners, solar thermal or photovoltaic panels and wind turbines will rise from 6 to 23% from beginning of July 2025.
The Portugese Refregiration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (APIRAC) argues that the reduced rate of 6% should be maintainet to avoid increasing the costs for ordinary consumers.
